The title of my blog Lock and Send seemed like an appropriate metaphor for the adventure I am about to embark on.  For those of you who are familiar with my experience registering for certification in Western Australia you know that the final part of the online application was the message "lock and send".  When I finally felt confident enough to hit the button, another message came up saying "are you sure you want to lock and send, you can be incarcerated for any false statements made".  So holding my breath I once again hit the button and "locked and sent".
As the final days are drawing closer and I am preparing to move to the other side of the world the phrase "lock and send" seems very appropriate. It is an emotional time right now saying goodbye to good friends, wonderful colleagues, loving family, and the students I teach.  I am excited about the adventure ahead while at the same time filled with trepidation about the challenges of living in a new city and country.
